What Is the Close of Day Report?

The Close of Day Report is a printed end-of-day summary used by shop owners, supervisors, and POS staff. It is produced at the POS when your team taps Close of Day at the end of the business day. The system fills in the day’s numbers automatically. The staff member signs the printout to confirm the figures are correct.

What the Report Shows

Every Close of Day printout has the same sections. The data is filled in automatically based on the day’s activity.

| Header | The top of the report shows the Business Name, Report Date, Report Time, and the Operator (the staff member who ran the report). | | Sales Summary | A breakdown of what was sold: Gross Sales, Returns, Discounts, Surcharge, Net Sales, Tax, and Net Total. | | Income Summary | A table of income by payment method (for example Cash, Card, QR), followed by Total Income and Total Refunded. The payment methods listed here come from the Custom Payment Methods you set up under Settings, Library. | | Other Summary | A short block with Total Customers, Total Orders, Total Items, and Outstanding Balance. | | Sales Breakdown | A line-by-line list of every order placed during the day, showing Order Number and Order Amount. | | Signature | A signature line for staff to sign off and confirm the day’s numbers. |

Where the Report Is Generated

The Close of Day Report is generated on the POS, not in Settings. The Settings page only defines the print layout (the template). To run the report, your staff opens the Daily Sales screen on the POS and taps Close of Day.

What This Connects To

  • Custom Payment Methods. The Income Summary table is driven by the payment methods you configure under Settings -> Library -> Custom Payment Methods. Adding or renaming a payment method changes how this section prints.

  • POS staff. The Operator field is filled in by the staff member running the report on the POS.

  • The Daily Sales block on your POS app. The report is shown and printed from the Daily Sales screen. The template only powers the print layout.

FAQs

Can I pick a date range for the report?

No. The Close of Day Report always covers the current business day on the POS where it is run. The printed Report Date and Report Time are filled in at the moment the report is generated.

Can I change which sections appear on the report?

Yes. Edit the Close of Day Receipt Template, remove or adjust the sections you do not need, then publish it again.

Where do the payment methods in the Income Summary come from?

They come from Custom Payment Methods, set up under Settings -> Library. Any method active on your POS will appear in the breakdown when there is income against it.

Why does my Income Summary look empty?

The report only lists payment methods that received payments that day. If no orders were paid, the breakdown stays blank. Check that payments were collected and refunds were recorded before running Close of Day.

Do I need to set up the template before staff can run Close of Day on the POS?

Yes. The POS will not print a report until a Close of Day Report template exists and is linked to the Daily Sales block on your POS app.
