What a WhatsApp Campaign Is
A campaign or what you might know as Broadcast sends one approved marketing message to many saved customers at once, from your own WhatsApp business number. Three other things in EasyBiz also send WhatsApp messages, and none of them is a campaign.
-
A conversation reply goes to one customer in your Inbox. You type it yourself.
-
An Event Notification is automatic and reacts to something that already happened, such as an order being ready for collection. It is not marketing. See Automatic Order Notifications Explained .
-
A Deal follow-up chases one enquiry that has not become an order yet. See Introduction to Deals .
A campaign is the only one you start yourself, aimed at a group, carrying a promotional message.
When to Use One
Use a campaign when you have something worth announcing to many customers at the same time.
-
A festive offer for Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, or Deepavali
-
A win-back message to customers who have not visited for months
-
A new service, such as bag cleaning added to a laundry shop
-
A new outlet opening
-
A loyalty or member reward
-
A seasonal reminder, such as curtain and duvet cleaning before the festive rush
Do not use a campaign for order updates. Those already go out on their own, and sending them twice annoys customers.
What You Need Before You Start
-
A connected WhatsApp business number.
-
An active payment method on your Meta WhatsApp Business Account. Meta bills you directly, and sending stops without it.
-
An approved Marketing template. Meta must approve the wording before you can send it. See Setting Up Marketing Templates .
-
Saved customers with valid WhatsApp numbers. A campaign only reaches customers already in EasyBiz.
-
A clear offer, with the value, the dates, and how it is redeemed decided before you write the message.
-
Your counter staff briefed, so nobody is surprised when a customer walks in holding the message.
Who Charges You
EasyBiz does not charge you for campaign sends. Meta charges you, through the payment method on your WhatsApp Business Account.
Before you launch, the Review step shows an Estimated Cost. Read it as a guide, not a bill.
-
It is always shown in US dollars, not in your shop currency.
-
It multiplies your recipient count by one flat regional rate, currently 0.0732 USD for Asia Pacific. It does not price each recipient by their own country, so a Malaysian number costs more than the estimate shows.
-
Your real charge is whatever appears in your Meta billing.
Meta also sets a daily messaging limit on your number, shown as a tier such as 250 per day. If your audience is larger than the limit, the campaign is not blocked. It delivers in batches across several days.
A Campaign Delivers the Message, Nothing More
A campaign does not create a discount and does not apply one. It only sends words to phones. If your message promises 20% off, something else has to make that 20% real.
| Tool | How the discount happens |
|---|---|
| Coupon | The customer or your staff enters a code. One coupon per order. |
| Adjustment Option | A named discount preset your staff applies at the counter. Never automatic. |
| Price Rule | Applies by itself when its conditions match. |
| Loyalty and Rewards | Follows its own earning and redemption rules. |
| Setting Up Promotions (Coming Soon) | Time limited automatic discount. |
Every offer message must state the value, the dates, the minimum spend, which outlet or service it covers, how it is redeemed, and whether it stacks with anything else.
Campaign Ideas That Work
| Goal | Who to send to | Offer mechanism |
|---|---|---|
| Win back quiet customers | Last ordered more than 60 days ago | Coupon code with an expiry date |
| Reward big spenders | Sorted by Total Spent | VIP Adjustment Option applied at the counter |
| Announce bag cleaning | Existing laundry customers | No discount, announcement only |
| Promote a new outlet | Customers registered at the nearest outlet | Price Rule limited to that outlet |
Letting Customers Stop Promotions
Every marketing message must give people a way out. Add a Quick Reply button with the exact words Stop Promotions to your Marketing template, and customers can leave with one tap.
Customers who opt out stop receiving marketing campaigns. Their order updates and receipts keep coming. The full setup steps are in Setting Up Marketing Templates .
FAQs
Does EasyBiz charge me for each message?
No. EasyBiz does not bill campaign sends. Meta charges the payment method on your WhatsApp Business Account.
Is the Estimated Cost what I will actually pay?
No. It is one flat regional rate times your recipient count, shown in US dollars. Recipients in higher priced countries cost more than the estimate suggests.
What happens if my audience is bigger than my daily limit?
Nothing fails. EasyBiz spreads delivery across several days until everyone has been messaged.
Will the discount apply by itself when the customer arrives?
Only if you set up a Price Rule or a Promotion. Coupons need a code, and Adjustment Options need a staff member to apply them.
Can I message people who are not saved customers?
No. Campaigns only reach customers already in EasyBiz with a valid WhatsApp number. You cannot upload a phone list.
How is this different from an Event Notification?
An Event Notification reacts automatically to an order event and is not marketing. A campaign is started by you, sent to a group, and is marketing.
