Where Company Fits in EasyBiz
EasyBiz organises your business into layers, from broadest to most specific:
| Layer | What it represents | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Company | Your legal business — the entity on your receipts and tax returns | Sunny Wash Pte Ltd |
| Business Unit | A type of service you offer | Laundry & Dry Cleaning, Bag Repair |
| Sales Channel | A specific place customers place orders | Main Shop, Online Store, Mobile Pickup |
Your Company is who you are, your Business Units are what you sell, and your Sales Channels are where customers buy from you.
What a Company Controls
Your Company settings drive the parts of EasyBiz your customers see:
-
Branding -> Logo and business name on PDF receipts and invoices.
-
Contact details -> Phone, email, website, and address printed on receipts and invoices.
-
Registered details -> Company registration number (UEN) and tax registration number printed on tax invoices.
-
Sales Tax -> A Company-wide tax rate that can be applied to every order from sales channels under this Company.
-
Rounding rules -> How decimal cents and small coin amounts are rounded on every order total.
-
Bank statement descriptor -> A short label that can appear on your customer’s card statement when they pay you online.
If you are just opening a second laundry shop under the same brand, you do not need a second Company. Add a new Sales Channel instead.

FAQs
What is the difference between a Company and a Business Unit?
A Company is your legal entity, the name on your receipts and tax filings. A Business Unit is a type of service you offer. One Company can run several Business Units, such as Laundry and Bag Repair under the same registered business.
Can one Company cover multiple shops?
Yes, and that is the normal setup. Each shop is a Sales Channel under the same Company. You only need a second Company if the shops are genuinely separate legal businesses.
I run two brands under the same legal entity. Do I need two Companies?
Usually no. If both brands belong to the same registered business, one Company is correct. Use a second Company only if the brands have different UENs.
Can I rename my Company later?
Yes. You can change the Business Name or Legal Business Name at any time from the Edit Company page. Changes take effect on new receipts and invoices going forward.
What happens if I delete a Company?
You first need to remove every active sales channel attached to it. Once deleted, the Company is gone for good. Past orders remain on record, but no new orders can be created under it.
Where do I actually set up my Company?
See [Creating and Configuring a Company] for the full walkthrough of every section on the Edit Company page.
