## Before You Start

Your WhatsApp Business account must be connected to EasyBiz. This Mini App does not contain a booking date screen, so you do not need to set up pickup or delivery time slots before using it.

## What Is Already Set Up

The template arrives with two screens. It is ready to publish as it is.

Before changing the screens, read [How the Mini App Builder Works](/docs/how-the-mini-app-builder-works). It explains what screens and blocks are, how to move them, and what the button at the bottom of each screen does.

![What is Already Set Up](https://cdn.easybizcloud.app/knowledge/1a96407177ae4213b0495cb6bf8db9d904aef82f76000d74bd2315b9af08a20a.png)

**Contact**

Asks for customer name, phone number and email. Name and phone number are compulsory, and email is optional. The footer action is <Badge>Save Customer</Badge>, so their profile is created when they continue. If that phone number already exists in your system, their existing profile is updated instead — you will not get a duplicate.

![Footer Action set to Save Customer.](https://cdn.easybizcloud.app/knowledge/15ad3968a2cfc70c8ab1b70768447fb51df40aa3649cf2e89932b6cf1628bc79.png)

**Address**

Asks for postal code, a <Badge>Find address by postal code</Badge> link, then address line 1 and address line 2. Address line 2 is optional, for unit and floor numbers. The footer action is <Badge>Save Address</Badge>, and this is the last screen, so tapping it finishes the form.

<Callout type="note" title="📝 Note">

The <Badge>Find address by postal code</Badge> link fills in the street name on its own. There is nothing to configure.

### Add Only the Extra Details Your Shop Needs

The two default screens are enough to register a customer. You can add one or two extra questions if the answers will help your staff serve the customer later. Keep the form short so a new customer can finish it quickly.

| Extra detail | Add this when | How it helps your shop |
|---|---|---|
| How You Heard About Us | You want to know whether customers found you through a friend, flyer, social media or Google. | You can see which promotions are bringing people to your shop. |
| Property Type | You need unit or floor numbers for customers living in HDBs or condos, or working in offices. | These customers must enter the missing details, while landed-home customers can continue without them. |

The next two sections explain how to add these questions.

---

## Asking One Extra Question

Because this form has no booking screens, it is a good place to ask one simple question about the customer, such as how they heard about your shop.

Do not add too many questions. The main purpose of this form is to save the customer's contact details and address quickly. An optional question is less likely to stop someone from finishing the form.

**Step 1. Create the field**

1. Go to <Badge>Settings</Badge>, <Badge>Library</Badge> section, <Badge>Custom Fields</Badge>.

![Custom data field in settings page](https://cdn.easybizcloud.app/knowledge/0beb7e12-9dd0-47b6-9ee7-5dda00e8ec9c.png)

2. Click <Badge>Add Data Field</Badge>. Name it How You Heard About Us and choose <Badge>Options</Badge> as the Data Type.

![Fill in the name and data type for the data field](https://cdn.easybizcloud.app/knowledge/26776371-01d7-41c0-a0b5-ca6556007c46.png)

3. Type your choices, for example Walked past the shop, Friend or family, Facebook or Instagram, Flyer, Google. Click <Badge>Save</Badge>.

![The Add Data Field drawer under Settings, Library, Custom Fields, with Options selected as the Data Type and the choices entered](https://cdn.easybizcloud.app/knowledge/d9c74f4d-e72f-4742-b3e8-a18e2d6a2482.png)

<Callout type="note" title="📝 Note">
<Badge>Options</Badge> is the data type you choose in Custom Fields. <Badge>Dropdown</Badge> is the block type you choose inside the Mini App editor. They work together, but they are chosen in two different places.

**Step 2. Add the block**

1. In the editor, click your <Badge>Contact</Badge> screen.

2. Click <Badge>Add Block</Badge> and choose <Badge>Dropdown</Badge>.

3. Open the block settings and set <Badge>Input Data Field</Badge> to <Badge>How You Heard About Us</Badge>.

4. Set the <Badge>Label</Badge> to How did you hear about us?

5. Leave <Badge>Required</Badge> as <Badge>Not Required</Badge>, so the customer can continue even if they do not want to answer.

## Ask for the Property Type

By default, address line 2 is optional, because landed houses have no unit number. Here is how to make it compulsory for HDB, Condo and Office only.

Add this question when you need a unit or floor number before visiting the customer. It helps your staff avoid calling or messaging again for missing address details. Customers who choose Landed will not be asked for a unit number they do not have.

**Step 1. Create the field**

1. Go to <Badge>Settings</Badge>, <Badge>Library</Badge> section, <Badge>Custom Fields</Badge>.

![Custom field from settings page](https://cdn.easybizcloud.app/knowledge/78a25cda-63b2-4885-adc9-26df907accba.png)

2. Click <Badge>Add Data Field</Badge>. Name it Address Type and choose <Badge>Options</Badge> as the Data Type.

![Adding Address type as custom fields](https://cdn.easybizcloud.app/knowledge/33d5c8c1-988b-4ea8-9ea0-0955b4cadc0b.png)

3. Type your choices: HDB, Condo, Office, Landed. Click <Badge>Save</Badge>.

![The Add Data Field drawer under Settings, Library, Custom Fields, with Options selected as the Data Type and the four choices entered](https://cdn.easybizcloud.app/knowledge/f333dcaa-df36-48ad-9eb8-b68f31b09fdd.png)

**Step 2. Add the block**

1. In the editor, click your <Badge>Address</Badge> screen.

3. Open the block settings and set <Badge>Input Data Field</Badge> to <Badge>Address Type</Badge>.

4. Set the <Badge>Label</Badge> to Property Type.

5. Set <Badge>Visibility</Badge> to <Badge>Conditional</Badge>, with When <Badge>Address geo location</Badge> and Operator <Badge>Has Value</Badge>. The question then appears only after the customer finds their postal code.

6. Drag the block above Address line 1.

**Step 3. Make address line 2 conditional**

1. Open the settings for the <Badge>Address line 2</Badge> block.

2. Change <Badge>Required</Badge> to <Badge>Conditional</Badge>.

![Change Required to Conditional.](https://cdn.easybizcloud.app/knowledge/60fdfc768c00457f0ca7cf05762313182de6d0c8412932388124b72771d1896e.png)

3. Set When <Badge>Address Type</Badge>, Operator <Badge>Is Any Of</Badge>, Value <Badge>HDB</Badge>, <Badge>Condo</Badge>, <Badge>Office</Badge>.

Address line 2 is now compulsory for apartments and offices, and optional for landed homes.

## What to Do After the Customer Signs Up

This Mini App saves the customer's profile, but it does not create an order or booking. What you send next depends on what the customer needs.

| The customer wants to… | What to send next |
|---|---|
| Book a collection and return delivery with fixed dates | [New Order: Pickup & Delivery Mini App](/docs/setting-up-a-new-order-pickup-and-delivery-mini-app) |
| Book a collection but decide the return date later | [New Order: Pickup Only Mini App](/docs/setting-up-a-new-order-pickup-only-mini-app) |
| Ask questions before booking | Continue the WhatsApp conversation. Their contact details are already saved. |

<Callout type="tip" title="💡 Tip">

You can include this sign-up Mini App in an automatic welcome reply for new customers. This lets someone register even when your shop is closed. Keep the welcome message short and explain that signing up does not create a booking.

## FAQs

**Does this create an order?**

> No. It only creates or updates a customer. Send a New Order Mini App when they are ready to book.

**What if the customer already exists in my system?**

> EasyBiz matches the phone number and updates that profile. You will not get two records for the same person.

**Why does this form not ask for a Business Unit or Sales Channel?**

> Because a customer profile is not an order. Those settings only apply to Mini Apps that create orders.

**Where do I see the customers who signed up?**

> In your customer list, together with customers created by your staff at the counter.

**Can a customer save more than one address?**

> This form saves one address. Additional addresses can be added later by your team or through another form.

**Can I add my terms and conditions to this form?**

> Yes. Add a short text block explaining the terms and a question for the customer to confirm their agreement. Keep the wording short and easy to understand.

**How many questions should I add?**

> As few as possible. The two default screens already collect the important details. Only add a question when your staff will use the answer.

**Can I use this for a promotion sign-up?**

> Yes. Give the Mini App a clear campaign name and add the optional How You Heard About Us question if you want to record where the customer came from.

**What happens if they complete the first screen and stop?**

> Their contact details are saved when they continue from the Contact screen because its footer action is Save Customer. Their address will be missing until they complete the Address screen.
